How can I purchase a Gift Certificate?

The easiest way is by shopping right here on this website. Just click on the Gift Certificate link. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, or money orders. Your name, address, phone number, credit card number and expiration date. You print the ticket after your credit card is approved, and then you can put the ticket in an envelope under the tree or mail it to someone. If you really want to get fancy, copy one of the pictures out of the gallery on out website and print that out too! Gift Certificates are good for two years from the date of purchase. Tickets may be upgraded for other flights.

How do I schedule a flight?

Just call 1-SKY-RIDE (1-800-759-7433), 7 days a week at any time and we'll get you signed up. While we occasionally do have last minute openings, to get the time and day you want it's generally best to call about a week in advance for biplane and warbird rides, and up to 3 weeks in advance for air combat. If you're redeeming a flight ticket, please have the ticket number available (some restrictions apply on or around New Year's, Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas).

Are there any age restrictions?

Air combat and warbird flights have no real hard and fast age or size limit, but generally children under 10 years old will have trouble following the action and seeing out. Give us a call (800-759-7433) and we will be happy to discuss the particulars of your situation.

How many people will fit?

The most common vintage biplane around is called a Stearman which was used as a trainer in WWII , and it will carry one passenger. Our 3-place Travel Air biplanes bear a strong resemblance to a 2-place Stearman because Lloyd Stearman actually designed them before he designed the famous WWII trainers. In these planes 2 passengers sit side-by-side in the front cockpit (first class) and the pilot flies from the rear cockpit (coach). But keep in mind, some sizes and shapes may not fit if two of you want to fly together. A great alternative is to book two planes, to allow both passengers to more comfortably enjoy the ride.

Can people with physical challenges fly with you?

Quite often, yes! Although it is best to call us to discuss your specific situation, so that we can properly assist you, we are always pleased to accommodate customers with all types of physical challenges, whenever possible. We've had passengers that are blind and deaf fly with us, and we've helped paraplegics and quadriplegic find a way to make it work. Call us at 1-800-SKY-RIDE to begin planning your adventure!

How should we dress?

If you're going on an open cockpit biplane ride, dress as if you were going for a ride in a convertible or on a motorcycle. We'll provide everything else needed for your flight. Air combat and warbird flights are in enclosed cockpit airplanes, so no extra layers are needed. They have "greenhouse" canopies, so it's actually pretty warm.

Is it scary?

In the biplane we'll give you a gentle, level ride unless you specifically ask for some excitement. However, if you want a few thrills we can definitely provide them! Just be sure to tell the pilot you want more or less of whatever he's doing, and he will customize the experience! Air combat and warbird flights are far more extreme in nature, and are intended more for those with an adventurous soul and a strong stomach. Your flight will exceed any roller-coaster that you may have enjoyed in the past, so come ready for excitement! However, if you let us know that you're a little nervous or prone to motion sickness we're happy to take it easy.

Is it safe?

It has often been said that you are more likely to be involved in an accident on your way home, than during your flight experience! It may sound corny, but statistics do support this, so be careful on the way to the airport! In any case, safety is the only thing that takes priority over fun here. All our pilots are FAA Certified Commercial Pilots with thousands of hours of experience and perfect safety records. Most are also Certified Flight Instructors. And many of our pilots are either active-duty military pilots, or airline pilots. All our maintenance is performed by FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics and the aircraft are inspected by FAA Authorized Inspectors (AI). If you see us working on our planes be reassured. Entropy being what it is (Nature's tendency to disorder), the aircraft you need to worry about are the ones that aren't worked on. In the end, we try to make this as safe as we can, but everything in life has some risk associated with it. You have to be the judge of what's an acceptable risk, and you did just that when you got out of bed this morning, didn't put on your seatbelt in the car, or bought a lottery ticket.

Can we bring cameras?

By all means bring a camera. Panoramic one-use cameras are perfect. You'll often end up with some excellent pictures of your experience, without the worries involved with bringing an expensive camera into the cockpit that may be accidentally dropped during all the excitement of your flight!

When are you open?

We have customer service representatives available 7 days a week to assist you with your reservation or gift certificate purchase.  Available flight times will vary according to location, so please call us to inquire about specific dates or times.
Can you help me keep a flight a secret?
Absolutely!  When the mission requires stealth, we will come through with flying colors!  Just let us know when you call, and we'll be sure to send any brochures or gift certificates in plain packaging to avoid spoiling the surprise.

If your question was not answered here, please call us at 1-800-SKY-RIDE (759-7433), and we will be happy to answer any additional questions that you might have, or assist you in reserving your biplane or warbird ride!
